British Alpaca Futurity 2012

Online Silent Auction of Stud Services

The Services Auction is now live!

A major part of the Futurity funding is raised from the auction of drive-by stud services to top line herd sires kindly donated by the Futurity organising group breeders and breeders who have agreed to sponsor the Futurity in this way.

These services will be offered for sale through an auction run here on the Futurity website starting on 4th January 2012 and will complete before the event opens.

This is an excellent way of bringing high end genetics from these major UK breeders into your breeding programme whilst openly supporting the Futurity event. The number of services offered will be limited, and once gone there will be no more on offer.

These top line stud males will be fully described on the website and the silent auction will open its doors and bidding will commence on 4th January 2012.

Silent Auction Terms and Conditions
Stud services that are purchased through the British Alpaca Futurity internet based silent auction will be provided subject to the following Terms and Conditions to which the service providers have agreed and the purchasers are deemed to accept by participating in the auction:
1 The purchase of a stud service is on the basis of a drive-by service, wherein the purchaser will take the female to be mated to the location of the herd sire, wait whilst the service is done, and then take the female away. Pregnancy testing will be the responsibility of the owner of the female alpaca
2 Arrangements for delivery of the purchased stud service must be made directly with the owner of the stud male at a date and time mutually agreeable to both parties. Purchasers must deliver the successful auction bid certificate to the stud owner at the time of first breeding
3 Stud services purchased are valid for the 2012 breeding season only and are not transferable to other alpaca owners or to the 2013 breeding season
4 The service provider reserves the right to use veterinary services as required. All veterinary costs incurred, including where applicable pregnancy diagnosis, will be met by the purchaser
5 Stud service providers provide a guarantee of a live cria on the ground for 24 hours or a free return to service under the same terms as this agreement. No other guarantee is offered
6 Where additional costs, as outlined above, are incurred they must be paid in full prior to the return of the animal
7 The purchaser of the stud service must ensure that any alpaca being sent for service is healthy, in good condition, has no more than one year’s growth of fibre and has not been in contact with any animals with a notifiable disease. The service provider reserves the right to decline to breed such female if in their opinion the alpaca is not in sufficient good health to be bred, and reserves the right to trim the fleece around the rear of the female to be bred if it is considered too long for efficient and safe mating
8 This agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties unless expressly replaced by a new agreement in writing between the parties
